Auckland will be bustling with sports fans and concertgoers over the next few weeks.
Sunday 22nd of July will be Vodafone Warriors’ Great Charity Day. The all-conquering team is set to play against the Melbourne Storm at Mt Smart Stadium.
This year, the Warriors will be supporting all of their charity partners at their home game. It’s announced to be the “biggest charity game in New Zealand sport.” A sell-out crowd (which would be 25,000) will see more than $50,000 donated to charity. $25,000 for a crowd of 15,000, $10,000 for 15,000 sold seats and $5,000 for 10,000. On top of that, a percentage of all ticket sales will be split among the selected organisations.
We’re pretty sure every one of those seats will be sold out this season, seeing as it’s a Sunday game and the Storm draws a massive number of fans as well. After all, we’ll be among the black and silver crowd, cheering from the benches for our beloved Warriors.
Meanwhile, in the music scene, Auckland is welcoming two well-known chart-toppers and GRAMMY Award winning artists.
For two nights only, Kendrick Lamar will be performing in New Zealand to promote his fourth album DAMN. The critically acclaimed hip hop artist is riding high on the local charts with three of his songs dominating the Top 5 hits, including his smash hit soundtrack album Black Panther: The Album which is currently at #2 and his ‘Pray for Me’ collaboration with The Weeknd. Lamar marked history as the first ever pop music artist to receive the prestigious Pulitzer Prize for music.
But if you’re a fan, then you probably already know all of that. Tickets have been selling out quickly as the July 19th and 20th performances approach.
Another most awaited comeback is happening in August.
After two decades, we will be seeing music legend Celine Dion once again as she brings her highly anticipated LIVE 2018 Tour to New Zealand. Celine’s powerful voice will definitely warm our hearts this winter.
Celine’s powerful vocals is one of the best ever heard. Only those who are lucky enough to secure a ticket will witness the magic first hand. Her phenomenal talent, quick wit and amazing connection with the audience make every concert an experience you’ll never forget.
Her series of performances are set to begin on Saturday 11th of August until Tuesday, August 14th.
Both Lamar’s and Celine’s concerts will be held at the Spark Arena.
